#CarlinIsles spent the first years of his life in foster homes in Massillon, Ohio, where he recalls times he was so hungry he'd eat dog food. Just before he and his twin sister turned 8, they were adopted and his life turned around. "My parents have always been there for me," he says. A high school track and football star, Isles took up rugby in 2012 and earned a spot on the U.S. team. Dubbed "the fastest man in rugby," he says he's grateful for how far he's come. "This is a gift.
