Rumour has it that this outline of a footprint embedded in the wall at St James’s Palace belongs to Henry VIII himself!

This part of the wall, located just underneath the archway leading to Colour Court, was considered to be Henry VIII's favoured spot to dismount from his horse. It is said that he had the outline of his foot etched into the wall so he knew where to place his foot when returning to the Palace.
