An ode to the simple pleasures of summer. This evening I just wanted to enjoy the little delights. Like a glass of ice cold lemonade. Turning off my phone. Hearing my son's laughter echo. And relaxing with one of my favorite notebooks (the Nanami Seven Seas Crossfield) and a beloved pen. The Montegrappa Fortuna Copper Mule (available at @gouletpens) was the perfect accompaniment for such a moment. And I cannot tell you enough how much I love Tomoe River paper. The way the nib feels on this delicate yet mysteriously durable paper is just... . After all this time, it is still magical paper, still very much swoon-worthy. •
This summer has been one of the busiest but I've made it a point to clear out a little space for basking in the glow of summer in all her charm, especially since it beckons the laughter of a most special boy who's worth all the time and more. There is always something to do or somewhere to go. But some things can, in fact, wait. So here's to making room for the moments that are irreplaceable and priceless and that pass us by too quickly. Here's to counting lightning bugs and sitting outside without any distractions. To driving with the windows down and eating too many popsicles. To summer and wonder and life.
