@thecreativecoalition class of #dnc2016 (some very cool folks!) and my new boyfriend Senator Chris Coons (he may not know he's my bf, whatever). He's fought for great causes and the people of Delaware, and is truly one of the good guys. Also, just a reminder that the 2016 budget for the National Endowment for the Arts is a little less than $148 million. With that, programs are put in place to keep bluegrass alive in Appalachia, work with the armed forces on dealing with trauma through the arts, community development, poetry, music, small town theatre projects, Shakespeare education. The list goes on. It's important to prioritize arts engagement. I think we become more empathetic and better at communicating, more thoughtful and inspired. Consider calling your rep to make sure the NEA budget is preserved or increased in the next budget. #yougottahavearts
