Prior to the opening of #GuggUBSMAP exhibition #UndertheSameSun at @southlondongallery, artist Federico Herrero (@crelazer) completed a site-specific work in a playground on the Pelican Estate in Peckham, and brought his vibrant aesthetic directly under the feet of local children. Curator of the exhibition Pablo León de la Barra (@pablodelabarra) says “What’s incredible with Federico’s work is that painting is only an excuse to making things happen. By activating the space through painting, he’s actually activating a community of kids, a community of teenagers, and giving the place back to them.” Watch the full video at guggenheim.org/blog
