It's time for my weekly Rhoda Hogan post to honor this amazing woman who is turning over in her grave, who wanted her $125,000 bequest in 2008 to go to (her exact words) , "An organization to be used to publicize and educate the public about the cruel effect of de-clawing cats and to support legislation forbidding it."
So I've spent hours & hours of my valuable time for over 6 months, making phone calls, emails, & investigating this, trying to get some answers for this egregious situation that was done to this amazing woman and no one will help me. Not the best friend of the 91 yr old lawyer who handled this bequest. Not the NH courts. Not Cornell Feline Health Center.
Cornell wrote up a great proposal in 2008 as to why THEY were the best organization to receive all this money, and the lawyer in charge and the NH courts believed them and awarded them this HUGE bequest.
From what I have found, Cornell made 6 short videos that probably cost ON THE HIGH END, $3000 to make, they didn't support the declawing bill in NY, they won't tell me what they did with the money and said they will tell the estate or family (the estate is closed and Rhoda Hogan has no family), the Cornell Animal Hospital declaws cat, (last I checked on Youtube they each had around 19-24 views and the links to the videos on Cornell's website don't even work) out to thousands of cat owners annually and where is the %$@& is the extensive declawing research program that they said they would do?
My mom even told the direct of Cornell's Feline Health Center ,Bruce Kornreich, that these videos don't work, during her talk at CatCon a month ago when he glad handed her, but obviously he didn't give a hoot.
Please read the story and tell me if you think those 6 videos cost $100,000 to make like they said they did.Not a chance.
