Our next weekly content creator is @MJinNYC. Check out his story here: “I have had @Instagram for years for personal use but it wasn’t until late 2013 that I started using it for my photography. It has been a total game changer allowing me to connect with like-minded creatives from around the world! Instagram has been a big motivation to get out and shoot content and to start traveling the world again as I've had recent trips to Chicago and Dubai - with a PNW trip coming up!
Growing up in the PNW I was always outside adventuring and enjoying nature. I have taken photos my entire life, but for the longest time it would just be a quick snap to capture the moment. In 2013, I was living in New York City with my buddy Petro. I had recently bought my first basic dslr and I was struggling to learn how to use it. Petro had vast experience shooting with dslr cameras and he taught me the basic controls of the camera and I was off and running!
My favorite places to shoot are the PNW, New York City and Dubai! The PNW is a favorite because there is so much beauty and peace in nature. New York City is absolutely wild and booming with content to be captured. Dubai is one of most futuristic and fastest growing cities around and a blast to shoot from above!
I love adventure so a lot of my work is landscape and cityscape based. I could be chasing waterfalls, climbing skyscrapers, or running subway tunnels – I’m all about living life on the edge! Living in NYC allows to me to go on missions to capture the city from the highest vantage points and most unique locations, often times these locations are off limits to the public which adds to the adventure!
My biggest inspirations are @createwitnate @_fabricios_, and @Jacob, because when I look at their work I am always amazed and they all have always supported me to the fullest in life as friends and in my photography career."
