Flashback to 2012, to the very first newspaper we made at DS. I loved every second of this. We made a carved camp sign and indulged in all of our summer camp favorites and it resulted in a giant stack of 10k papers we put in the back of a rental van, shipped across the country and distributed (via an amazing volunteer street team) for free at coffee shops and shops around the US. Not the brightest business investment (lots of investment but no profit) but it was SO much fun and reminds me of those early days when we dove in head first and worried about money later*. It was the perfect expression of "go with the flow" summer fun. *Now I have a team I love deeply that relies on the site for paychecks and salaries and health insurance so my creative endeavors require more planning and budgeting and responsible decisions. While I miss the spontaneity of early blogging days, I have so much more appreciation for what we do accomplish now because I know exactly how much time, planning, effort and saving went into it. ? by @emily__johnston
