The Prince of Wales visited a waste facility in Plymouth this morning to see how the plant takes local waste and converts it into energy. HRH also had the opportunity to sit in the control seat of the gantry crane and grabber!

The Devonport Energy Waste Combined Heat and Power (CHP) Facility treats 245,000 tonnes of waste per year, and the waste is used to generate heat and electricity for the nearby Naval Base, which was the next stop for The Prince.
