(4/6) While fueling with hydrogen is a new concept for many drivers, the availability of hydrogen fuel continues to increase across California. Tom has taken his Mirai as far down as San Diego and hopes to make a trip up to the Bay Area to visit his son in Danville, fueling at the Coalinga station along the way. In Southern California alone, there are already 11 active stations available for fueling. Most hydrogen fueling stations are conveniently located in the same lots as average retail gasoline stations. For Tom, who lives in Mission Viejo, the experience of fueling with hydrogen has been smooth and reliable. “The [stations] in Lake Forest and San Juan [Capistrano] are both six miles from my house,” he says.
