When DWYCK first dropped in 1992, it was an immediate smash hit with hip hop heads. I had the cassette single, but I was baffled and disappointed that it didn't make it on Daily Operation. Nice & Smooth had already been around for years, but they were hot at the moment after releasing "Hip Hop Junkies" & "Sometimes I Rhyme Slow". This is one of those classic songs that DJs kinda play too much, like Scenario, Slam, The Choice Is Yours... but even with the amount it's played, I always get the same exact feeling as when I first heard it. It always transports me back to that time. I had these dope Fila sneakers with the straps that I'd hang off the back... and I had a super dope Boston Celtics starter shirt that was made like a baseball jersey. That song is magic. Shot out to @DJプレミア for making this amazing shirt. RIP Guru. Guru was born July 17th 1961. My father was born July 17th 1960.
