I've always loved hosting my friends for dinner. There is nothing better than sitting around a table eating and laughing with good human beings.

With those moments in mind, my friend Lisa (@rosydisposition) and I decided to launch our very own supper club: The Eye Eaters Society (@eyeeaters). You may not know this, but the Midwest has a strong tradition of supper clubs. We formed the Eye Eaters to celebrate that history, but with our own spin on the concept.

Here's what we're thinking:
Our events will pair a chef (or chefs!) with a photographer. The photographer selects a number of photos; the chefs prepare a meal inspired by those images.

Excited? We hope so.

The inaugural Eye Eaters Society dinner will take place on Thursday, July 28th. Because it's our first go at it, I'm going to be the guinea pig. I’ll be sharing a series of photos with the talented chefs at Mott Street Chicago (@mottstreetchi), who will put together a four course meal. We will have the whole restaurant to ourselves!

Mott St. is one of my favorite places to eat in this city. I can’t wait to see what they are going to do with the photos. My vision becomes their vision, which then becomes our dinner.

The only thing we ask is you come with hungry eyes and wear black.
