I have been sick to my stomach for the last two days. I usually do not share my devastation but my heart aches for the hate, prejudice and racism that keeps happening in this country. ‪#AltonSterling ‪#PhilandoCastile #TrayvonMartin ‪#TonyRobinson #TamirRice ‪#MichaelBrown ‪#EricGarner ‪#PulseOrlando ‪#CharlestonChurch #OscarGrant ‪#RodneyKing just to name a few and the list goes on and on and on.....
I have two black sons that I have to worry about being killed by the very people that are suppose to protect them? How can this be? What if they get pulled over for a routine traffic stop? What if they have sweatshirts on and pull their hoods up on their head if their cold?
What if we are just worshipping at our church? How can these killings be justified? Murder is murder! We cannot pretend that these lives do not matter! We cannot be ignorant to what is happening in America (supposedly the land of the free?). Racism exists people (if you do not believe it... you are truly disillusioned, have decided to ignore it, apparently you do not read the paper, look at social media, watch the news or you live on another planet). Yes, I have experienced it many times as a brown woman but our men are being hunted for the color of their skin on a whole different level. These brutal attacks have been nurtured in hate. We have to stop this we have to LOVE everyone! God is a God of LOVE! You cannot pick and choose....He doesn't!
It should not matter what nationality you are, the color of your skin, your gender, what religion you practice, what you do for a living, your education, your financial situation, where you come from or who you choose to spend your life with.
We need to LOVE ALL HUMAN BEINGS!
1 John 4:7-8
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God.
8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
