I admit that i didn't know anything about the festivals in kerala, india that use elephants as part of their celebrations until i saw the documentary #GodsInShackles (http://www.godsinshackles.com/). This stunning film is changing the mindset of policy makers and shifting the culture's assumptions about religious rites and the role of these magnificent creatures.
It recently screened in the state's Legislative Assembly but it needs to be seen by more people.
What "blackfish" did for orcas, this film can do for these intelligent and sensitive animals.
