Konja,1, is severely malnourished. She’s one of many children who have been affected by extreme poverty and hunger in #Malawi's southern district of Chikwawa. Although Konja has been receiving therapeutic food, the food situation at her home is desperate. “Her health is not improving because I don’t have other food to give her,” Jolita, Konja's grandmother, said. “We are surviving on water lilies, as we can’t afford to buy maize on the market every day.” Malawi’s food crisis caused by a dire drought is putting the lives of children and families across the country at risk. #ElNio © UNICEF/UN022640/Chikondi
