Back in 2005, just after the Tsunami hit southeast Asia, I started www.thebryanadamsfoundation.com. To kick off the inauguration of the foundation, I asked as many of my musician colleagues as I could find to sign a guitar for charity. Little did I know that it would become the most expensive guitar in history! Here’s how it happened; On 16 November of that year, I had been invited to Qatar to auction the guitar, and it initially raised $150,000 for my foundation, which was incredible. However, the purchaser put it back into the auction for their foundation, and that started a bidding war that resulted in the guitar selling for an extraordinary US$2,700,000. The final beneficiary was the a "Reach out to Asia" foundation.
