Kazuyoshi Miura scored his first goal of the season on Sunday to break his own record as the J-League's oldest scorer. Miura, who is playing in his 31st season, scored in the 22nd minute for FC Yokohama, who lost 2-1 to FC Gifu in the league's second division. The striker reached the latest milestone at the age of 49 years, three months and 24 days. Last November he extended his contract at Yokohama. Miura played for Brazil's Santos and Italy's Genoa early in his career, and represented Japan 89 times, scoring 55 goals, but never played at the FIFA World Cup.
