Don't have expectations of how a hike may or may not go, have a go with the flow attitude. Children like to take their time on the trail stopping at every flower, stopping to listen every time a bird chirps, picking up every cool rock that stands out to them. As adults we forget to slow down and take it all in, we are supposed to be teachers to our children. But sometimes, the children have the best lessons to teach. .
