With our latest collection we have ceased using virgin cashmere in our knitwear and replaced it with a regenerated cashmere made from pre-consumer textile waste in Italy. This is because cashmere production has the highest environmental impact out of all our raw materials. It takes 4 goats to produce the same amount of fibre as a single sheep, and these goats are turning the once rich grassland of Mongolia into a desert. Today on World Day to Combat Desertification it is important to recognise the extreme effects cashmere production has on the planet.

We are continuing to support on-the-ground work of the Sustainable Fibre Alliance in Mongolia in improving the long term production of virgin cashmere and preventing desertification.
