Alright major #throwbackthursday and @rpstrength appreciation post here.... From the VERY last time I was ever a 63 (Junior Worlds, July ish 2015 in Poland) to tonight. Left was right before weigh ins after a cutting food, water and spitting to make weight at 62.7. I was literally eating maybe 800 calories a day (on a two a day training program), hangry all the time, and weights had plateaued. I didn't know what, how or when to eat and even though it was 100% clean, I struggled every time to make weight and it got progressively harder as my body went into "survival mode" and held on to everything from my horrible cutting diet. I hit a 91/110/201 at that meet, going 2 for 6. Shortly after, I started working with RP to move up a weight class the right way. Right is tonight, after a day of eating (4 meals deep, workin on 5 as I type this?) chugging everything, training and coaching, and about 6kg/13lbs heavier. Up a full weight class and sitting between 68-69 usually, and still trying to gain muscle mass. Less than a year later, most recent comp numbers were 106/133/239 and 5 for 6. Body weight up. Performance up. Mood up. Weights up (+15/+23/+38 in comp, let's not even get into the squat difference #bless ??). I can't thank Nick from @rpstrength enough for working with me and teaching me not only what to eat, but when, why, how much, etc. Eat to fuel, eat to perform, eat to FEEL good. Food is not the enemy, don't be afraid to give your body what it needs to perform the way you want it to.
