The calendar display of the Datejust 41 relies on a disc numbered with the 31 days of a full month laid on top of the mechanical movement. The date change occurs each day instantaneously at midnight by way of a circular spring-loaded cam. It accumulates energy over 24 hours through the watch mechanism, and releases it at once, pushing the teeth of the date disc by one increment. The changeover lasts a few milliseconds and cannot be perceived by the eye.
