#failbettercontest: Who likes to fail? Nobody, of course! For the failed goes what Samuel Beckett once said: “Try again. Fail again. Fail better”. It would be best if everything works like a clockwork. But because this doesn’t always happen: Show us your funniest, most absurd, most beautiful pictures and videos about failure. Your coffee has spilled the moment you wanted to take a picture? A tree is lying across the street? The blinds in your favourite café are lopsided? Let’s mess up the overly staged Instagram together, and show what it looks like when you fail or when things simply go wrong.
Tag your pictures or videos between June 11 and July 10 with #failbettercontest. You can also submit pictures and videos via Twitter and Vine as #failbettercontest. @gertpauly and @jorgsengers of @thisaintartschool, Dolly Brown aka @londonlivingdoll and Stefan Hirtz of @artefakt_berlin pick the three best images.
The winners will be awarded the volume “Besser Scheitern” as well as the catalogue “WortBildKünstler”. Their pictures will be shared by @thisaintartschool and presented on the exhibition’s website www.besser-scheitern.de.
In Ingelheim am Rhein, in public spaces such as train stations, administration offices, schools and shops, you can discover videos and photos by 14 international artists. They explore phenomena of failure in diverse ways: playful, enjoyable, tragic, comic, grieving, surprising.
