RIP Mr. Hockey, #GordieHowe - the pride of Floral, SK. He was a husband to Colleen (who I named the @yogahosers after) and a Dad to Mark & Marty and Murray & Cathy. But he was world renowned as a hockey player - one of the absolute best. Gordie played pro hockey in 6 different decades, including 25 years and 4 #StanleyCup rings with the @detroitredwings. He came out of retirement to play hockey with his sons Mark & Marty on the #HoustonAeros of the #WHA before finishing his career with the #HartfordWhalers. Howe was the childhood hero of #WayneGretzky and years after this photo was taken, they shared ice together in the WHA All Star game. Some might remember Gordie as the face of the boyfriend Bart Simpson created for a lonely Mrs Krabappel or some may remember him as the namesake of the #GordieHoweHatTrick. Ferris Bueller's friend Cameron sported a Howe jersey because Gordie was John Hughes' favorite player. This legendary man, his deeds and his character echoed across decades. As he hangs up his skates forever, I offer my thanks to him for being an ambassador to the greatest game on Earth as well as one of the nicest people I ever met. #KevinSmith #NHL #MrHockey
