Atlanta at sunset.
I'm having so many strangely beautiful encounters these days. Everywhere I go, people talk to me. I think before I was much more closed off, distant, keeping people away. Feeling separate from the whole. Now I see my interconnectedness with everyone and everything. Everyone looks me in the eye. Everyone is smiling. I feel people - I really, truly feel them - as they walk by. I've received compliments on my necklace, my hair and my blouse today from people I've never even spoken to. An elderly woman with her arm in a sling explained to me in the bathroom that she loves tops that have shoulder cut-outs like mine, because it gives her doctors easy access in physiotherapy. I was trying to take a photo of this magical sunset but kept getting the airport lights reflected in my phone, and a man walked up and offered to send me this one that he took with his Samsung. Then he showed me a photo he took of the Little Dipper, the star constellation, with his phone. And people keep giving me free food! We had a whole meal for free at an Italian restaurant the other day, and the next day the owner of a cafe offered me my lunch on the house. I asked a woman at the airport just now where she got her fries because they looked so awesome, and she immediately asked if I wanted to sit down and share them with her. Every few minutes I have these small, but very big, encounters. People. Strangers, but not really.
I feel so open. To the whole world. I look out at this sky and get goosebumps all over my body. We belong together, the sky and I. Look outside. Aren't we all just so lucky to be here?
