BATTLE OF THE BIRDS: Amateur photographer Lisa Bell was at a campground on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, when she captured a series of incredible photos illustrating a life-and-death struggle between a bald eagle and a Canadian goose. The eagle swooped down and landed directly on top of the goose, pinning it to the ground. The goose somehow managed to get free and took off for a nearby pond, as seen in this photo, disappearing underwater for long enough that the eagle eventually gave up, Bell told local media.
