Video&caption by @gatorboys_chris When training the gators how to station they have to sit in an exact way, like the one on the far left is in this video. The middle one is almost but not quite, and the far right just has it all wrong! And yes, that is my foot by him, and yes it's on purpose. I often test whether the gators will actually try to grab me or not by putting myself within easy grasp (trusting in quick reflexes that haven't failed me yet). I know it seems crazy, but it gives me a very important glimpse into the individual mind of each animal on whether he will try to grab me first chance he gets. Some try to grab me very often, some hardly ever, they're always wild animals that can never be trusted, but it helps me a lot to know which are more likely with little exercises like this. Of course it's still dangerous and I learn new things every day, I'm sure I'll get lots of haters for this video, but over a decade of this and fast reflexes haven't failed me so far. My biggest scar from a gator is less than an inch and I've been handling them since I was fifteen.
