Thank you @PSCummings for this video & this message; "Consistency is perhaps the most underrated ingredient in the feast of success. It’s also a trait most unnatural to me. I am a hitchhiker on a switchback highway of ideas & ambitions. I am a couch surfer of dreams.

I remember eavesdropping one day on a conversation @Katrin Tanja Davidsdottir was having with @benbergeron & whatever they were talking about made me realize how often I’ve mistaken the ability to go fast with the ability to maintain intensity.

Katrin is so good because in all the time I’ve spent chasing her with my camera, for all the reps on all the days, her consistent intensity never wavered. It’s not her ability to go fast that matters, but her persistence in fighting off the distractions, the interruptions, & the safety that comes with letting her foot off the gas.

The world is awash with inconsistent intensity, election cycles of fevered passion & tepid apathy, a washing machine of intention.

All the high-performing people I’ve ever known vary in skills, strengths, & motivation, but all share a common ability to remain standing on the slack line they’ve latched around who they were & who they want to be." I made this video for my friends at @fuelforfire, but I also made it as a reminder to myself. Consistency matters more than talent. As Ben says, “You don’t become a champion & then start acting like a champion.”
