Hiked the Kalalau trail yesterday- relentless heavy rain the entire time. Beautiful scenery, terrible muddy conditions. Truly the most challenging hike I've ever done, but surviving those kinds of challenges can be its own satisfaction.
At a mid point is a beautiful secluded beach with a couple of sea caves, perfect to hole up inside. Also lots of cute feral cats all over the island that want your food. I gave this guy some turkey- he was really appreciative.
