House of the Day: Selections from the Venice Biennale - House 1014 by H Arquitectes

House 1014 was completed in 2014 in Barcelona, and occupies an unusually narrow plot tucked in between two existing structures. The house can be accessed from two streets, running parallel to each other at either end.

The centre of the plot is occupied by an isolated central garden, which acts as a divider between the front section – the domestic area for the family – and a large section at the back of the house, used for entertaining and accommodating guests.
