The power of compassion and commitment. It's astonishing to think that the emaciated, malnourished and very sick cubs in the top image are the very same shiny young males as those with Kevin in the picture below. What a difference time, care and love can bring. In 2014 the Coalition Against Canned Hunting or CACH helped save these 2 lost souls from a woman at a Spanish theme park. CJ and Luiz Munoz from CACH were told the woman was charging tourists 10 Euro per photograph with the cubs through long days and nights of extreme stress for them. She was also feeding them milk only to stunt their growth and "manage" them. They were in a dreadful state. After the rescue, came the call out for a permanent home. Out of the sunset @Kevin Richardson LionWhisperer Kev stepped up. George and Yame as they are now known were flown to South Africa through the generosity of @painteddogconservationinc and Weekend Sunrise viewers in Australia and others around the world desperate to help. It has been a long road with multiple surgeries, especially for George, but they could not have found a better home. The message could not be any clearer everyone. Be it baby elephants on the streets in Phuket, Walking with Lions in Zimbabwe or Zambia, animals like these don't exist for cute photo opps. Kevin's sanctuary is 1300 acres, there is no breeding, they are rescued lions and other predators who live out their days with as much natural behaviour, contentment and ongoing support as can be provided ... hard earned from their previous existence. Always ask questions. I was naive and ignorant myself about many of these issues in the past.
