After retiring two years ago, 3x Olympian and silver medalist Heather Bown (@bown_heather) was pleasantly surprised to find herself on a roster for the #USAVopen sitting division. "I had never even seen game footage of sitting volleyball, only photos. I've loved learning a new side of the game, but I still don't know what I'm doing!" Heather said, laughing.

After a long career with the #USWNT and playing professionally overseas, Heather formally retired in 2014. Since then, she's obtained her masters in marketing and project management and is passionate about working with youth, hoping to pass on a passion for all sports and an active lifestyle. "I've worked with Classroom Champions and when I lived in LA, I was involved with an organization called Ready, Set, Gold! I love volleyball, but I really look for any chance that allows me to share the lessons playing sports taught me," Heather said.

On Monday, Heather warmed up with former U.S. Men's Sitting Team captain Brent Rasmussen before their team, the Nebraska High Rollers, played in the championship. #HumansofVB
