#TBT my "Nono" (grandfather) and my Zia (Aunt-mother's sister) Anna in Italy many years ago. My grandfather died when I was only 6 years old from leukemia so I only got to spend very little time with him just on my first visit to Italy when I was only 4 years old. I remember him giving me "pane e zucchero" (bread and sugar). He worked super hard On his farm (they grew their own tomatoes and figs, made their own pasta and drank and bathe with water out of a well) he played the accordion and he broke his back when he was younger but could still walk- and he worked Til the very end-just hunched over. I wish I could have spent more time with my Italian family but all 7 times I've been there I had a blast and ate way too much amazing food! #Italy ??????
