#Repost @susiesseniordogs ・・・ LONG ISLAND, NY: We made a promise to 9 year old Sadie that we would help her find a home again. Very sadly, hardship struck her former daddy and Sadie was surrendered to her shelter 1 year ago. Sadie was a superstar in her neighborhood and loved by everyone who knew her. She was so proud to be her daddy's girl! Everything was going just right. Until one day the only life she knew was abruptly taken away. Yet Sadie still tries keeps a smile on her face. But it's getting harder and harder each day. PLEASE TAG your friends to help Sadie find The Good Life again! Sadie arrived at the shelter happy and plump. But due to an entire year of stressful shelter living she's lost weight and has a hard time keeping it on. She truly enjoys human companionship and home life is her only road to happiness. When her daddy could no longer care for her, a neighbor tried to take Sadie in, but Sadie prefers to be the solo pet-kid at home and the woman had other animals. Sadie has many supporters, and now she just needs to find an adopter. Sadie remains calm and quiet while in her kennel and she enjoys going on walks. Likely due to shelter stress, Sadie has some anxious habits in the play yard with her big red ball. It's her "stress reliever." She will run and run and run with it until she can no longer keep up with herself. However, when her balls are gone and out of sight, Sadie will seek human affection. She will lean into you for rubs and is clearly very happy for the attention! We ask that you give Sadie time. Ask the volunteer or staff member who helps you to take her out of her kennel, and ask to spend time with her in the play yard. Ask to remove all balls from Sadie's sight and please give her time to get to know you. And please take the time to get to know her. She is a great dog who is being overlooked solely due to her current circumstances. Give Sadie a home again and she'll give you back so much more!" To adopt Sadie, please email Jenna at [email protected] or call 516.869.6311. North Hempstead Animal Shelter is located at 75 Marino Avenue, #PortWashington, #NY ❤️ #seniordog #longisland #brindle
