Magdalena Wosinska’s (@themagdalenaexperience) love of photography was born from another of her favorite childhood hobbies. “I started shooting skate photos when I was 14,” the Polish-born photographer says. “I was a total tomboy and grew up skating so I just started shooting photos of my surroundings.” Now known for her (often nude) self-portraits, Magdalena’s photos capture the gorgeous travel locations that inspire her work. And like her photography, there’s more to the L.A.-based artist, who describes herself and her work as passionate, fast, and direct, than meets the eye. “I’m super domestic and a fragile flower wrapped up in a leather jacket, blasting metal,” she reveals.
To Magdalena, #GirlGaze is, simply, “How I view the world.” She shares that view by making sure that her camera never leaves her side — and that’s the wisdom she hopes to impart on young aspiring photographers. “Always have a camera with you,” Magdalena says. “And if you think you should stop and take a picture, then STOP and take the picture.” - Words by @hannamariehoward
