I paddled to Spirit Island on Maligne Lake to try to check off a bucket list image I've had in mind for years. I have always wanted to photograph the Milky Way above the Island. Things looked promising at sunset, as there wasn't a single cloud in the sky but I had a long wait until darkness would truly arrive.
