Our weekly content creator, @omarzrobles, transports us to a beautiful storm: "The dancer in this image is Allie Gee, she is one of my frequent collaborators. We shot this image the morning when winter storm Jonas hit New York City. I texted Allie the night before and she was crazy enough to accept. It was under 30 degrees I believe, and the wind made it even more difficult to shoot. Allie was a real champ shooting under those conditions. The way we coped with the cold was to shoot for a few minutes and seek warmth at the indoors public space by the Wall St. station. This particular image was I think our third spot and we had walked a bit far from the station. After shooting a few frames, a nice young gentleman who was working at a coffee shop on that street, came out with a warm cup of coffee and offered it to Allie. After that we used the coffee shop for shelter in between shots before resuming for the day. Even though it can be challenging, I love shooting under extreme weather conditions because it adds more drama to the photographs. I shot this image with my Fujfilm X-T1 which is weather sealed as well as the lens which I was using. This gives me a lot of peace of mind knowing that I will not suffer equipment failure due to bad weather and encourages me to shoot more in such conditions. Needless to say though, the dancers shoes got completely ruined, I kept them as a souvenir."
