It just takes one good wave to settle the nerves. I'm still confused and amazed that this exists. Thank you to my team at @kswaveco for making this long trek to our oasis a reality. Many long days, weeks, months, years coming to fruition and new challenges emerging with it. When I first saw this wave with my own eyes I was at odds with my feelings...surfing to me has always been adventure and travel and meeting people. New countries and cultures with all corners(?) of the globe offering the potential for something unknown and different for us to experience. But I'm finding that the soulfulness of surfing a repeatable, man-made wave is whatever you bring to it. It's in the experience and mindset and attitude. Last week was one of the most rewarding times of my life, sitting back and seeing some of the happiest and most fulfilled expressions on the faces of friends who've surfed their whole lives, shaking their heads at the fun we have created. When the next wave is as good as the last one that broke you simply don't care which one is yours and which one is someone else's. It's truly a unique (and may I say spiritual?) feeling. I hope everyone gets a chance to ride these waves soon.
