Tonight, Harlow told us that she saw a dog eating a popsicle.
ME: Today?
HARLOW: No, a long time ago...yesterday. When I was one.
ME: Interesting. Where were you when you saw this dog eating a popsicle?
HARLOW: I was by the park. With daddy. Daddy saw it too.
ME: Was the dog eating the popsicle all by himself?
HARLOW: No. His owner was holding it out so he could lick it.
ME: Oh. I guess that makes sense.
HARLOW: But dogs aren't allowed to eat popsicles because it will make them sick. The dog got an upset tummy. I know this because when the dog was finished, he opened up his mouth so far that Daddy and I could see into his belly and see the tummy ache. Then the dog threw up. It was pink. And yellow. And blue. He threw up a rainbow. The owner took him to the doctor office and he got stitches on his belly. And then he never ate a popsicle again.
(I think tall tale telling Harlow is my new favorite Harlow.)
