#Elephants are being killed at an alarming rate, both by #ivory poachers and by wealthy American trophy #hunters. It's estimated that on average, an #elephant is killed every 15 minutes for its ivory. That's 96 animals a day! At this rate, some populations of elephants may be wiped out in the next decade.
Fortunately, the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service (@USFWS) is considering whether to list African elephants as "#Endangered" under the U.S. Endangered Species Act (#ESA). The public can now comment, and now your urgent help is needed! Click the link in my bio to sign the petition and show your support!
An "Endangered" listing would be a huge step towards stopping #trophyhunting and the ivory trade once and for all.
