It was 71 years ago today that my home island of Jersey was liberated from the armed forces of Nazi Germany who fortified Jersey's coastline during it's occupation in World War 2. Above is one of those fortifications. With today being Jersey's national day, my fellow islanders got a day off in celebration. Happy Liberation Day Jersey! #LiberationDayJersey
