So yeah... #aboutlastnight -- I DARED to wear this @thomaswyldeofficial dress to a political fundraiser in D.C.! ...oh, my!? how scandalous!? ? ...???????????????????? I dream of a society that allows women to be who they are; a society that recognizes that sexy AND serious are NOT mutually exclusive - (imagine that?). I mean SERIOUSLY, what are we so afraid of? Is someone going to die at the sight of my mid-thigh or 32B-cup breasts? Why is supreme violence allowed all across media while "side-boob" is a network policy breaker which is strictly not allowed. Is it possible to slit a throat with a nipple? It seems that is the belief in our world, at times. Look, here's my point... To. Thine. Own. Self. Be. True. If my truth is that I'm serious AF about humanitarian issues and I just so happen to also be "so audacious" as to wear a plunging neckline and a high slit, THEN let me, I beg of you. Because here's the truth women are their absolute most beautiful when they FEEL they are. Women to Women, we must set a precedence of NO TOLERANCE when it comes to slut-shaming. We're in this together. Embrace your truth, is all I ask, and when you see another woman wearing attire that's not your style, give her the benefit of a doubt. She chose that piece because that's her story about herself to tell. It will change evolve and grow as she does, but that girl who you may think is a slut, could, in fact, (like me for a long time) suffer severe lack of self esteem. She may be looking for love in all the wrong places. She may have never been taught her worth OR she may just feel good as gold and you can celebrate with her versus laying judgment. I'm sorry only for the novel, but I mean every word and they come from my heart. I hope each word is taken with understanding and awareness that I say this only with good intent. With love, respect and perhaps a bit too much candor... Xxx A
