Today I pray that those who are young are strengthened to release their fears, anger, weaknesses, and hurts to someone but in a safe way. Give those who don't have families, who have been molested, abused, or mistreated a safe haven so that they aren't senselessly taking the lives of others. Help them to find the outlet so that they may enjoy their youth and not miss the joys of being young. I pray that they're detached from pride or the feeling of having to prove themselves to others. Remove the arrogant disposition. Help us to know how to be sons and daughters again and to not adopt the spirit of a bastardized mentality. I pray that we understand that there is a future after high school. We don't have to be "grown" so soon. Connect them/us with people so that we can overcome our inner issues to find our greater selves. Lord release us from our pasts and the tormenting thoughts or desires of feeling the need to show someone "what we are really about". Give us the strength and humility to solve problems with love or walk away. Push back the darkness from our schools, from our minds, and from our hearts. Connect us with healthy individuals so that we aren't feeling the need to prove ourselves in gangs, or to people who aren't good for us, for the sense of belonging. Free us from sexual sin and the tormenting wickedness that we've slept with. Restore the compassion in us for one another. God, love the wrong out of us. Help us to love again.
