"I’ve known @jasonjessee since he was fourteen and we often traveled to contests together when he rode for Vision and I rode for Schmitt Stix. My first memories of Jason were of him skating Del Mar and I probably thought he was kind of annoying, but over time I (like most of the rest of the skateboard population) found myself as a fan of this awesome skateboarder. When he moved up to Santa Cruz in the late 80s I rarely saw Jason and when I did we’d rarely talk. When he started riding for Converse a few years back we rekindled our friendship and I had the pleasure of shooting this perfect eggplant at Kelly Belmar’s pool in Garden Grove that ended up on the cover of @TheSkateboardMag soon after. It was the perfect combination of that rare moment captured perfectly and the legend that is Jason that made it a unanimous cover choice. I still look at it as one of my favorite covers I’ve ever shot." ?:@daveswift01 #ShootAllSkaters
