Paul Henreid, in plaid shirt, and Marina Vlady, to the right of Henreid, during production of "Pardon My French" (1951), directed by Bernard Vorhaus. This was the second-to-last film by the veteran director who gave David Lean his first break in film... as a film cutter. Lean, who later went on to win Oscars for directing "Lawrence of Arabia" (1962) and "The Bridge on the River Kwai" (1957) , called Vorhaus the "greatest influence" in his life.
