A proud young woman, and rightly so! Emmanuela John, 19, was recently named the top scorer in her state in #SouthSudan’s national primary school leaving exam. Emmanuela, who lives in the village of Wau Shilluk in Upper Nile, says she studies for about three hours every day, often by candlelight as there’s no electricity in her community. More than 1,700 children attend morning and afternoon classes at Wau Shilluk’s only primary #school, which is supported by #UNICEF and partner, INTERSOS. Thanks to @unicefssudan for sharing.
