I wanted to say something about mental illness awareness. My dad suffers from BPD (Borderline Personality Disorder), which is not something I share with anyone, but to bring a spotlight to this affliction, I'm willing to share.  Before he found the right medication, he wasn't able to control his emotions at all.  Even on medication, BPD cannot be "cured". He always felt isolated even in a room full of people.  Between paranoia, crippling anxiety and wildly fluctuating self confidence, he actually managed to hold an executive job in engineering; however, the disturbances in his personality eventually become too much stress for him in a business office, so he left it all behind.  He tells me that it's like being in a dark bubble that you can only leave temporarily and have to run back into every time you get even a hint of apprehension about some challenge.  Please understand that not everyone is "normal" and they face mental issues they have no control over.  That doesn't prevent them from loving or being loved.  It doesn't mean they can't contribute significantly to this world.  We are well beyond the times of locking up the mentally ill in asylums and throwing away the key.  I believe that everyone has some degree of mental illness even if not serious enough to be diagnosed. So, aren't we all essentially the same? Love everyone. Use #WhatsYourStory or comment your story below. In partnership with @bringchange2mind
