Ingredients:
2 tbsp evoo (extra virgin olive oil)
1/2 white onion, chopped
4 small chopped carrots
2 stalks chopped celery
1/2 tbsp garlic
1 lb spicy Italian sausage (casings removed)
1 small head chopped cabbage
1 cup quick cook brown rice
1 28oz can crushed tomatoes
8 cups reduced sodium chicken broth
1/3 cup grated Romano cheese
1.5 tbsp @Flavorgod Seasonings Italian zest
red pepper flakes to taste
1 tsp Himalayan salt & pink peppercorn -
Directions:
In a large soup pot add evoo. Add onions, carrots & celery. Sauté 5 minutes. Add sausage and cook until brown. Add garlic, cabbage, crushed tomatoes, and chicken broth. Stir in Italian zest, s&p, and red pepper flakes. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce to simmer until cabbage is tender. About 45 minutes. Add brown rice and cook 5-7 minutes. Stir in cheese and serve.
