I went on a spontaneous road trip this past March with some friends to catch some sun & some beach time. Since I am from the landlocked state of Oklahoma, roadtrips to the nearest & nicest beaches have become an semi-annual event for my Oklahoma friends & I. Destin happens to be one of my favorite beach locations. We went camping at Henderson State Beach Park in Destin for most of the trip, played sand volleyball, went sailing with friends, and explored the Coast. I usually try and take a day or two of each trip to go photograph & capture the lifestyle of my location. Since ocean-fishing and sailing is a huge part of the Florida lifestyle, I immediately headed to Rock landing Marina at the Destin Bay to capture this shot.
How it was captured: Using my Hero 4 Silver & a drone, I launched the drone while standing at the end of the Pier next to the marina. After reaching a height of about 60 feet over the Marina, we were able to see the beautiful view of the yachts and clear blue water off the Destin bay. I used my GoPro app to view the footage and snag a perfect shot of boats as they bathed in the Florida sunshine.
