Does your daughter act like a "mean girl" sometimes?

It's easy to feel triggered by this and to respond with stern reproval.
But here's what you want to remember: your daughter's view of the world is a direct reflection of her view of herself. If she's harshly judging others in all likelihood she is feeling harshly judged, especially by her own self.
Before you cast her out of your shining light for her misbehavior, question wether that is the best way to address her underlying motivations.
The more you can communicate unconditional love and acceptance, the more she'll be able to see others in the same way. Translate her "meanness" as "struggle" and see how that shift in perspective might change your approach.
