I thought I'd take a second to acknowledge the upcoming series finale of a show I've been watching for 15 years: American Idol. This show about people coming from all over the country to LA to follow a dream started right after I moved to LA to do the same.  And in the 15 years the show has been on, I've watched these brilliant performers come out and audition for a show with tens of thousands of other people (when i go to an audition and there are more than 20 people there i have a panic attack) I can't imagine auditioning for a guest star on NCIS in a stadium full of people and think to myself...yeah i got this...but these singers just give it a shot. And 20 of them land on the show and one of them wins...and I know it's cheesy, and I know the show had it's great years (I'm looking at you Kelly Clarkson, J-Hud, Fantasia, and Latoya) and it's not so great years (Thanks a lot Nikki Minaj and Mariah Carey), but i was always inspired by the sheer guts of these contestants.  It made my own process seem easy in comparison.  From the get go, Dave Offenheiser and I were watching the show, slowly convincing Bo Gorman to join...and I remember Jared Mass telling me he knew Justin Guarini back in the day and that he was from the Philly area, and I was just blown away that a guy could just show up and in a few months have the entire country captivated.  Then we started watching seasons 2 and 3 and 4 with a great group: Matt Silverberg and Phil Eisen and Dave Offenheiser and Jared Mass and Ilsey Juber and Jackie Tohn and Jessica Erin, and lots of others who popped in from time to time. We'd start the night by going to watch Jackie and Ilsey play an acoustic show at a coffee bar they had a residency at and then back to our apartment in the Valley to watch Idol.  It was such a great time every week, I'll never forget it. Little did we know, our very own watch group member Jackie Tohn would eventually grace that American Idol stage herself a few seasons later!! I called in my vote for Jackie about 13,000 times. (#Bohnerz4Tohnerz) Another season, Dave and I were working on Rockstar on CBS and we both went nuts over a guy, Chris Daughtry who (continued in comments)...
